As I was randomly shuffling through the lame music on commercial radio today, I was alarmed at the increasing use of blatant auto-tune. Then, something occurred to me: Maybe the major labels are trying to desensitize the public so that they will be able to eventually replace human singers with robots! Just think how much they will be able to increase their profits if they don't have to pay artists.
Then, of course, the final step will be to eliminate the songwriters. I'm sure some programmers are at this very moment working on applications that will examine current hits and "compose" similar music. It's too bad there are so many sheeple out there who will probably listen to it!

So true. It's already happening with all these copy cat cookie cutter artists and the seemingly same five people singing on every hook and everyone else's song, especially in urban music. I swear 7 out of 10 songs on radio right now feature Mr. T[erribly] Pain[ful], the king of auto-tune. But I could rant on that.
On another note, the robots are already taking over. Look at Delilah, the syndicated night time dj/host on most soft rock stations, I swear she has to be 80 years old. She's been around for years upon years. I swear she is a computer somewhere, with vocal clips compiled, and they just replay them in a cohesive order. It's the same stories from callers; lost love, dying relative, etc.; and the same romantic song requests over and over again. She will outlive us all.
